TO 30 oil pressure ?

The oil pressure on the fergie starts out in the 20-30 range but as time goes on it drops to 5 lbs at idle, sometimes less. No noise from the motor. Compression is in the 120 range on all cylinders. I pulled the valve cover and there appears to be a good supply of oil. I do not know the rebuild history on this recently purchased tractor. Pump? Gauge? Bearings?

Sounds typical of excess clearances in the crank bearings and oil pump from wear.
Don't know how many TO's and N's I've seen that are still working hard with ~5 psi at idle.... a lot! I wouldn't say that is a BIG problem, but you can be sure it will never get better, only gradually worse.
You can try straight 30WT oil if your not already using it, might help a little.

Drop your oil pan, pull and rebuild the oil pump and the built-in relief valve. That will probably give you a good jump in pressure. You can find the pump rebuild kit on this website. When I rebuilt mine, I found the old relief plunger was had been eroded away real bad.

I agree with gerard. Your idle pressure is below the idle limit of 15 psi minimum @400 rpm. By all means check the gauge but since it registers 25-30 psi at cold start up, I don't think it's bad. What kind of oil are you using? In my opinion, you should not be using anything lighter than 30W HD( to about 50F per the owners manual)or 10W30 multi-vis.
You could have a stuck open relief valve or a damaged relef valve and/or spring. You'll have to remove the valve and spring to check this. I have a recently remanufactured Z129 in my TO-30 and with the air temperature at 25F, and with 10W40 oil, I have 25 psi at start up and 27-28 psi at warm running conditions. During the summmer, I start right up at 27-28 psi and and it stays there regardless of the temperature. I'm almost sure that my relief valve is bypassing at start up in these cold temperatures and then as the oil warms up and all the clearance resize I go back to the normal operating pressure. I know this is long winded but I'm trying to give you a range of possible causes. If it isn't any of these than the bearing clearances are excessive and you're due for an overhaul.

I know some on this forum are happy to accept oil pressures as low as this. Personally, I would rather fix it before the problem becomes a crisis.
The gauge is the easiest to check - try another known (or new) mechanical gauge. If it confirms readings, then, as you say, it"s possibly bearings, maybe pump too. Unusual to have good bearings / bad pump combination, unless it"s a total failure, which yours isn"t.
