TO - 35 with olive green body

I was wondering what the deal is with the TO-35 that is painted like the tractor in picture. Was there a special reason for the paint scheme.

Initially it was Gray with a Green Belly (12/1954 to 4/1956)

Then they switched to the Beige and Flint Gray Metallic. (5/1956 to 12/1957) as you picture and the ad shows

Then they went to Red and Flint Gray Metallic. 1958 & 1959.

No special reason that was just the paint scheme for that year.

Actually, in all, there were four color schemes... probably the most rare (and an unknown number) in 1956 were Beige with the Green Metallic Castings before they switched to the Flint Gray Metallic castings, i.e. copying from your post, (italics) :

Then a few with Beige with the Green Metallic Castings in the 4/56, 5/56 time frame..

"Then they switched to the Beige and Gray Metallic. (5/1956 to 12/1957) as you picture and the ad shows

Then they went to Red and Gray Metallic. 1958 & 1959....."
