my neighbor has offered me his tractor for $500 its partially apart but he says its all there. It has a bucket and that is it.saw it run a year ago and it didn't sound like it was running all that great. what are the things to look out for when I go and look at it. Are there weak area's I should look out for. It has an over head 4 cylinder engine. How do you figure out exactly what model it is? thanks

my thoughts on it are this ,why did he take it apart in the first place ,what made him give up trying to fix it himself,is the tractor and the parts stored out of the weather ,i would check for antifreeze in the radiator oil in the engine and fluid in the hyraulics ,also look at the loader ,is it powered by a pump off the crank or off the tractor hydraulics,
you can look over the steering wheel and there should be the plate with some numbers on there ,also if you look on the side of the block it wiil say Z120 or Z129 ,let us know and you can figure out what year it is ,reason this caught my eye is because once i got one for free and it became the most costly project ever Good luck

You'll get lots of responses to identify it. For $500 you can't go wrong, as any Ferguson is fixable. I've got a 1948 TO-20 worn to a frazel, but it still does its job. Buy it and enjoy! What part of Washington? I'm near Wenatchee.
