Does the steering wheel acorn nut that holds the steering wheel on a FORD-9N tractor also fit the FERGUSON TO-30?

The Ford will fit, but if you are a purist in restoration, they are not the same design in shape and size. Ford parts are availble from repro shops but not Ferguson to my knowledge. Had to get mine chromed($) as it was pretty dull.

You can get these parts from Sparex, they look like the original from what I can see in the picture.

They look it but they are not. I had one and sent it back. It is not of the right geometric design, it you worry about being "original". I can't understand why these companies go to the trouble of making a "repro" part and not do it right. The Ford repro guys do a very good job from what I have seen, too bad their parts won't work for the restorer of Ferguson in most cases.

Bad as that was it? A lot of these parts are made in India in these small workshops. As you say why they can't make them as the original I don't know, they must have had a sample originally so surely it would have been easy to do that.

Well, it was a very nice looking chrome "acorn" nut, but it was not correct geometrically as I have an original to compare with. Most people will not notice, but if you are truly restoring to original specs then you want to find the right one. It's close, but no cigar! Maybe I am getting too fussy in my old age. I don't remember what the Sparex catalog says but I hope it does not say "just like original". If it says "will fit TO series" then fine, but buyer beware.

No they are careful not to say just like the original or they would be on thin ice I think. All that is said it will fit.....and then gives the models. You are right, unless you have something to compare it with you wouldnt notice I suppose.
