hi, need help on rear main seal on to 20, would that be a two piece or a one piece seal on the rear main , leaking real bad on father inlaws tractor and does the tractor have to be split to repair it, thanks for any imfo

Bud it is a one piece seal and you will have to split the engine and transmission then pull the flywheel and pan. There are two bolts inside the pan through the rear main bearing cap flange that holds the seal retainer. It should be a double lip seal and the large lip toward the engine and the small lip outside to keep the dirt out. While I had it split I would pull the brake cross shaft then the four bolts that hold the transmission input shaft and seal and replace that seal and gasket also then use the shaft to align the clutch and pressure plate before reinstalling in transmission.
