Try what Jerry says and slacken the screws off that hold it to the clutch housing, slide it forward to increase the pressure on the switch, if it still doesn't work, remove it from the tractor and take it apart, be careful detaching the rod inside the clutch housing, attach some cord to it in case you drop it into the housing. Clean contacts on the switch and fasten up again. If the contacts are really bad then replace the switch. It is Lucas part 76418 or Sparex part S42538 or MF part 82960M91

I presume you problen is that the starter won't turn over the engine. Normally the Ferguson is not equipped with a solenoid. The gear shift lever mechanically actuates a switch that connects the battery to the starter. Some times the switch gets dirty and the reistance gets so high you cant start.I belive the TEA switch maybe able to be taken apart and cleaned. if not get a replacement switch. It is located on the top of the transmission casting underneath the battery. You can chewck the switch for continuity to see if that's the problem using a voltmeter. Sometimes the switch needs an adustment because it doen't actuate with the transmission lever. The screws that hold it on are in slotted holes on the switch and sometimes you can move the switch and get it to work. Make sure that the battery cables are clean at the battery and on both sides of the switch as well as on the starter. Check the cables for continuity.

Does it click, or make no noise at all?
If no noise at all, be sure it is in neutral, and then you can short the two large terminals on the solenoid (on top of the bell housing, below the battery) with a wrench. If it starts, the problem is the contacts within the solenoid, which is a common problem.
