A friend of mine recently aquired a TO20 serial# 55611 on the dash plate. Does anyone know the model year this tractor was built?

That is a 1951 TO-20. One of the last made. The TO-30 started with SN 60,000.

For future referance a link to the serial number referance charts is in the left column under Research and Info cleverly hidden under the title Serial Numbers.

Thanks for the info ..... and the tip! :)

I've only seen a couple of these Fergusons in my life. Looks to me like Harry's tractor had a few advantages over Henry's 8N including flange rear axle, F-head engine, and a flip up hood design.

If you want much more info on Ferguson's visit the Ferguson Enthusiats of North America (FENA) Site. - perhaps even consider joining.

But yes, there the TO-20 had some real advantages. The Overhead valve engine being an important one.
