I just recieved my replacement radiator from Yesterdays Tractors,, Great service, fast shipping,, good price.. But how do I remove the old one? Looks like there are slotted holes in the bottom of the new one.. I really havn"t looked at the old one.. It"s 350 miles away,, but I"ll be there to make the swap out this weekend so I need to know what to do,, what to look for.. what tools i"ll need.. Thanks

take off the hood and support it on a saw horse or something that will keep the doglegs safe,spray some PB Blaster on the carriage bolts that hold the radiator letit soak while you are draining it ,if the antifreeze is good you can use most of it again except for the bottomof the container ,sometimes the draincock is frozen but with a pair of pliers you can normally get it now is also a good time to replace the hoses and a new thermostat in the upper hose,if the hose clamps are bad replace them also ,some tractors have a little pad beneath the radiator ,but dont make it too high as you dont have a lot of clearence ,also disco the support rod at the neck and carefully remove the old one ,you will transfer the shroud to the new radiator so be carefull,use two new carriage bolts size 7/16 by 1 1/4 long with two 7/16 locking washersand dont over tighten them ,by the way make sure you have a radiator cap with the new one as the old one probably wont fit

Can't I do it without removing the hood???

I have all new hoses, clamps, t-stat & Cap

Removing the hood is easy.

Disconnect the lights if you have them. Then Remove the two bolts at the bottom of the Dog legs. Lift off. That is all.

Easiest way is remove the hood (trust me!). Elaborating on what Dan said, I found the pads under the radiator necessary to stop fatigue cracking of the lower neck joint on my TO30. Mine were left off by the previous "restorer". Made mine from a piece of tire sidewall.

It"s a lot easier to just undo the bolts and remove the hood. No muss, no fuss. You don"t want to take a chance on dinging a new radiator.

Thanks guys,, JohnUK just sent me a diagram of the parts and an explaniation to the process.. I'm sure with everything as old as it is and having been sitting for so long.. all the bolts will not be fun to remove and probably going to break a couple. thanks for all your advice
