The new Chinese radiator and Mexican water pump work great, and with the (NAA) stock temp gauge, I can tell when it's time to get off and scrape the crud off the radiator so machine can cool itself off. Wondering if anyone has devised a way to screen off the radiator in a way that is simpler to keep it clear from brush debris. Of course if I cut the stuff next year and not let it get 6' tall it won't be as bad I assume...

Also had my first flat tire. Local tire shop was there in 10 minutes and then I was surprised to watch them fix it with tire irons~ should have guessed! anyone suggest a place to acquire the appropriately sized irons? thanks~

I used to have an old 9n Ford that I tried different ways to keep the stuff out of the radiator.....I built an angle iron frame work (with hardware cloth on it) out in front of the thing to knock the seeds and chaff off before it got to the tractor...then taped a screen over the front of the tractor. Still got in there till I took a piece of 3 or 4" square foam rubber about a foot and a half long and stuffed it in the opening underneath the radiator..... problem solved. On the 9n there was no way to brush it off unless you had a water or air hose. Fred Martin

I put a section of ordinary window screen behind the grill and against the radiator. Real easy to clean (at least on mine; two screws and the grill pops off). No trash gets to the radiator fins.
