NEW PTO SHAFT ASSEMBLY

Am seriously contemplating installing a new pto shaft assembly w/ 1 3/8" diameter as my old shaft has very worn splines.Was wondering how difficult
and what steps are necessary for this upgrade.

The front wheels need to be 15" lower than the rear to do it this way, any oil that does come out is because it is too full. When you drop the front wheels in the hole leave it about 15 mins to allow the oil to move forward into the gearbox through the baffle.

What Marlowe said! Also, a tip: if shaft does not want to come out, take the shaft from an implement and attach it to the PTO and get a friend to help pull or attach a comealong. The implement shaft will give lots more leverage. But normally it will slide right out with no trouble.

easy park tractor in ditch nose first [deep ditch] that way your hyd. oil will go to the front and you don't have to drain the rear end remove the 4 bolts that hold shaft in and pull [have pan under rear end just in case some oil comes out] if shaft is not twisted it will pull right out 30 minn tops to change if twisted we can cover that latter
