I recently bought a tractor for some light farm work I dont know the model for sure I think that it is a TO20. I checked the hydraulic fluid dip stick and it reads nothing in it. the 3 point hitch and pto work but I think I need some fluid and I dont know where to add it..... .... or what fluid to use????? ?any help would be greatly appreaciated

Just to add to John's info.

Before, adding fluid take off the right hand side inspection plate. (The round cover plate with the transmission dip stick. under the seat). Once off look at the oil. If it is clean and clear then go ahead and add the oil through the fill hole near the shift lever. If the oil is "Milky" you have water in it and you may want to do a compleat clean out and oil change rather than contaminate another gallon or two.

If a change out is needed do a search on "cleaning procedure" and you find a post on how to do this. If you cannot find it please post a new thread and ask and we will provide it for you.

You add the oil through the filler plug next to the transmission lever. From empty it takes 24 quarts of GL1 90W oil (NAPA part no. 65-205)
