THANKS FOR THE IMFO. on a closer look of the tractor it has a z120 motor. Also that when the tractor gets hot it sucks water into the oil. thats not as good thing so im going to let it pass. there`s always another tractor to buy.

Hi Glenn,
Like Bill said, try and get a serial #, or some kind of ID.. On the side of the block, there should be a series of numbers that start with a letter Z. This would help.
$500.00 sounds like a pretty good deal if everything works, but I can tell you one thing for sure; It's not supposed to run hot. Could be something as simple as a stuck thermostat or clogged radiator, but could also be much worse. Is there water in the oil? (Milky color), can you see if water is flowing thru the top of the radiator? Lots of things to look for. Let us know what you can find out. There's a lot of knowledge out there (not me particulary). Just need some info.
Good luck

There were basicaly two original models of the Fabulous Fergie , look just above steering column , you should see a plate with tractor serial number , if the first 3 lettersare TEO , you have an overseas model , built in Dearborne ,Michigan . If it is TEA , you have an English model , built in Coventry , England . The overseas model used a Continental engine , while the English model used a British Standard engine (built by Triumph Motors),parts are not interchangable between the two engines . Overseas models as a rule used Delco electrics , while English used Lucas . Trans , steering ,pumps etc were the same . Parts are still readily available, amazing enough from Massey-Ferguson Dealers , as well as used salvage yards & after maket parts companies . Central Tractor is a good place to start . If you need any help , let me know iwill see if I can help.

I just bought a farm and got a TO 20 in the deal. The radiator fluid does look like there may be oil in it because there is some creamy foam on top. It does not seem to overheat as I have used it for a couple of hours...unfortunately there is no water temp gauge.

Anyway, what kind of problem is indicated by the oil in the cooling water?

Thanks

Glenn- The tractor serial number should be on a plate on the gauge panel. The motor serial number
should be on a plate on the left side of the motor
block. Post these and someone can probably answer the rest of your questions.
