Where do I start...

I have a TEA-20 that I've owned for about 25 years, the last five of which it's sat idle due to a badly needed engine rebuild. My attempts at getting rebuild parts here in New England for the Standard engine have been less than successful. I've toyed with the idea of finding a Continental Z120 or Z129, and swapping the Standard out, but haven't done anything yet. Is this even feasible?

Are rebuild kits for the Standard engine available in he US? Where? I need sleeves/pistons/rings, main and rod bearings, timing chain & sprockets, plus gaskets, carb kit, and some other goodies before the old girl is right again.

Cliff, All the parts you need are readily available in the U.K. E-Mail me if you have any problems getting them in Canada. Regards, Pete.

Thanks for the reply. It looks as though I might have some options available, but if I run into a dead end, I may take you up on your offer.

How close is the Standard engine to what was used in the passenger cars and the Triumph TR2-4 series? I've heard it's basically the same engine. Perhaps a British Auto parts specialist would have what you need.

Trimph TR3 uses 87mm liners etc, the TEA uses 80 or 85. Triumph spares are more expensive than tractor spares.
Best of luck
Stephen
