Valve clearances

Does anybody know the cold valve clearances for a petrol MF 35. What are the symptons of incorrectly adjusted clearances?

Incorrect clearance (loose) make them sound like a sewing machine - clattering. Likely noisier as the engine oil warms up and offers less "cushion".

I'd guess yours is a Standard engine?

The Vapormatic handbook says .010 intake, .012 exhaust (cold) for the 80 and 85 mm, and inlet .012 and exhaust .008 (cold) for the 87 mm.

I would question whether there's a mistake in the 87 mm spec, however, because any other specs I've seen have exhaust valve clearance equal to or greater than intake clearances, because of the higher temperatures involved.

If anybody has a book 35 or 135 with the 87 mm engine, they could confirm those specs.
