I am replacing the brakes on my TO-20 because oil leaking. I am really torn if I should split the ring and replace the outer seal or just do the sure seals. I would prefer to just do the sure seals but am wondering what will stop the grease from finding its way out past the already leaking old seal? Thanks in advance

If the bearing is ok then no real need to split the hub off, just use sure seals. The grease will not go past the original seal unless the bearing was really worn and it couldn't seal properly. It was oil that causes the problem and Sure Seals stop all that.

Many have reported the sur seals work fine and have had no problems after many years.

I'm glad to hear that, I bought sur seals off Ebay a few months ago... One of these days, I'll get them installed... I've been dreading pulling my filled tires, still thinking about it. Might have to get a 6 pack and invite the neighbor over.

If you're working in a building, you might want to loop a chain through the wheel and over an overhead beam. This will keep the wheel from falling over and damaging you.

I've seen it done this way; you can "walk" the wheel sideways out of the way.

Through the years I have replaced the outerseals twice with no luck. Installed sure-seal 3 years ago and still no oil on brakes.

Try a Ford dealer I think they use them on the 9N some of the Ferguson dealers have them too.
