I've got a TO-3O that has been converted to 12 volt with an alternator. In the process of replacing a shorted out switch and some burnt wires, I've lost track of where all the wires went. Any one got a diagram for a 12 volt alternator conversion?

Matt, PRESUMING that you have a GM/DELCO alternator, this is how mine is configured, on a TO 20...On the alternator, the terminal by itself is marked BAT, I wired that to the battery side of the starter switch. The 2 wire plug has (on the alternator) markings 1 2, below that R F, R being below the 1, F under the 2. The wire from terminal 2(F) goes to the terminal marked BAT(tery) on the alternator. The wire from terminal 1(R) goes to the ignition switch, if your switch is labeled I, L, B, put the wire on the I terminal (I is ignition, B is battery and L is lights). By placing the wire on I you keep the circuit hot only when the key is on. Should work, good luck Mike
