Barry, Rod and others,

Have you heard of any campfire bans in N. Ontario?

In two weeks I am going to the Wawa region for a week of fishing and camping. Need to plan on what to bring.

Jeff

Jeff, Cooking fires are exempt from our fire bans. The idea is to allow small fires for warmth and cooking but not for the purpose of burning brush etc. Good luck with your fishing! PS Its been cool at night up here this week but hot during the day - mind you Wawa is far North!

Jeff, I'm in Virginia, but we go to Ontario most every year to canoe and fish, although not this year. We've done quite a few rivers up there, but the last few years we've been in the Sultan area (about an hour from Chapleau). Feel free to email me at . Using full spelling to avoid spam. Put Ontario in the subject so I don't delete your email, if you wish to correspond.

The Wawa Motor Inn is always our first night stop on the way up further to Nakina. I missed my annual trip (June 27=25) this year, and really miss it.

Sorry this is way off topic, but just had to comment.

Yeah, it's pretty wet here right now after two nights of rain.

The fire ban may be a day-to-day thing if the storms made it as far as Wawa.

60 degrees F. this morning.

Did you hear about the long power outage in Toronto? The Toronto Star said that lightning hit a 90' pole and they had a hard time getting a replacement, and then hit scrap steel when digging the new hole. It was a long blackout.
