TO-35 cylinder sleeve replacement

I haven't received the manual for my tractor yet and I'm wondering what's involved with replacing the sleeves. Are there any special tools required?

With my TE20 the wet liners were corroded in so I converted an old trailer jack into a sleeve puller careful you dont scratch the block/gasket facing - use a peice of wood. Ensure all sleeve seating faces are very clean on assembly or you will get water in the oil.

DO NOT USE A WELDER ON THE SLEEVES !! The Engine has WET SLEEVES. With the engine disassembled and the rod/pistons removed you can use a brass or hard wood punch to drive the sleeves out the top with a hammer. When the sleeves are out you can clean the blocks' interior and get all the crud out of the water jacket. Clean everything and inspect the block for cracks. Many of the common cracks can be repaired or welded and do not fatialy weaken the block. New sleeves are pushed in from the top and can be seated with a dead-blow mallet.

Hi dave check the n board archives Zane Sherman posted the procedure for installing and removing cylinder sleeves. There is a tool used do sleeves but a welder can be used instead. Ill see if I can find Zane's post later.
