Did Lucas or any after-market company ever offer a conversion kit for electronic ignition for the Lucas distributor?

As far as I am aware Lucas did not offer an electronic ignition conversion for their distributor but there were a few who did offer a kit and we did fit a few. I have just had a quick look through the usual suppliers and there is no one listing one, although I would think that someone will have one if you could speak to them. Most people who have the older tractors are restoring them and trying to keep them as original so possibly there isn't a great demand. You may find one that will fit if US it's just knowing where to start. Have you tried a search on Google?

I have checked the Petronix site and they DO have an ignition system suitable for the Lucas D3A4 distributor fitted to the Ferguson TE and TEA tractors The Petronix number is LU145 and the price is $93.15, if you wish to check the site here is the address:-http://www.vintageperformance.com/retrorockets/lucas.htm

Well, folks, John has come through for us once again. Thank you very much, John.
I am sure there is a kit for the TO 20, which uses a Delco distributor, I think.
John, I feel a little guilty by not keeping my Fergie all original, but function wins out every time.
That's why I converted to 12 volt; I was tired of it never starting and sometimes having to crank it.
With 12 volts, my tractor starts and runs better than it ever has. I just barely touch the key and it's running.

Dennis, don't feel guilty about it, as long as your tractor is running properly for you and who can see this kit anyway, it's all tucked away in the distributor out of sight. Ferguson knew of the shortcomings of 6 volts that was the reason they changed although I could never quite understand why it took so long for them to change over in the US as the UK changed in 1951 and the US changed in 1955 but who are we to argue...lol I will try to find out if there is a kit for the TO20/30 and put the details up on here for all to see.
