You and John were both very helpful. I had thought that the hydraulics were also affected by the clutch, but now I know that is not the case. I can focus more now on getting the lift system to work properly and I am going to contact John for the info that he offered. Thanks again, RonW

The hydraulics ARE affected by the clutch, in a live-drive tractor (two stage clutch) the second clutch drives the PTO off the back of the Pump so if you press the clutch pedal ALL the way down it will stop the Pump and also the PTO, but at least you can then put the PTO out of gear and then release the clutch pedal and lift the three point linkage.
