TO-30 Tranny pan/plate ?????? HELP FAST

Under the tranny is a pan/plate with 9 bolts and what looks like a plug coming out of one of the front corners of the pan/plate. I assume this pan/plate holds the PTO pump assembly (?). What kind of trouble will I get in to if I drop that plate? What is that plug at the corner? Does it house a valve of some sort? Is there a screen &/or filter in tehre that I can clean? I'm wanting to clean all the sludge out of the bottom of the tranny & hydrolics. My 3 pt is not working very good, goes up very, very, very slow and will not raise a bush hog. This thing has been sitting for 5 years, or more. It runs great, the PTO engages & spins with the clutch out and the 3 pt will go up,,, EVENTUALLY.. LOL

That plate is your hydraulic pump, there are no filters in the system at all. The plug at the corner is for taking power from the pump to operate a loader or something similar. You have either a leak on the system or the Pump is worn. If you email me at:- Fergusontractors at tiscali dot co dot uk

That plate is the bottom of the pump itself. You have to remove the PTO shaft and disconnect the control linkage inside before dropping the pump. There are many postings in the archives about checking for hydrolic leaks that can affect lift operation.

I took mine out a little over a year ago. I believe you can pull the pan and it will all stay up but not sure because I have one that I rebuild and it is mounted to the plate. I have 2 spares and I'm not home right now so I can't be more specific. Look for JohnUK he is a great help with the fergies..Sorry I can't be of more help but someone will. If not I will look at mine in the morning and let you know. Eric

Thanks Eric... I drained the system,, all three drain plugs and refilled with new GL-1 90w.. Still no luck with the 3pt. It won't work :(

UNBELIEVABLE... It"s fixed.. Or so I think.. Seems the problem the whole time was the end play of the top 3pt link. There is a big spring on there and there was no tension on the sping.. While it was running I grabbed the top link and just pulled on it and the dang thing went up so fast it scared me.. I put a big rod through both arms across the back and stood on it and hit the lever and the dang thing went up so fast and strong it about sent me flying.. and I"m 230lbs... I"ll know in the morning when I try to hook up to the bush hog and harrow disc.
I took a couple of 3/4" flat washers and split them,, and wedged them in to give the spring pressure... Seems to have done the trick.. I"m sure there is a proper adjustment for it.. I"ll see what I can find..

That's good, I have the directions that I got from UK-John that will show you how to correct the tension on the rocker (spring area). Let me know by email if you would like me to send that to you or you can contact UK John here.
