Massey Ferguson TO30 with Continental Z129 4 Cyl E

I am in thr process of starting to overhaul my engine in M/F TO30. It has a continental Z129 engine. I am trying to locate torque specifications for the head bolts,main bearing, etc as well as head bolt tightenting seqence pattern. Anyone with this info? Thanks

Get the factory shop manual, the parts manual and the owners manual. It's money well spent because there is a lot of system info that you won't find anywhere else and there are some things to watch out for that the factory manuals will warn you about.

Here is a bit of info, but the specifications are sprinkled throughout the text of the manual. The Dealer Shop Manual will be the best $25-$35 spent on the rebuild. Get one as there are lots of things to watchout for that are subtle, like the head gasket with and without the water bypass hole.

70-75 Ft./Lbs. on the Head bolts
Sequence is the following pattern if you were to number the bolts

11,6,2,8,13 ...4,1,5... Front of Engine
10,9,3,7,12

Manifold Side

Main Bearings are 85-95 Ft./Lbs.
Rod Bearings 35-40 Ft./Lbs.

James... getamanual. It will be the best $30 you will invest in your rebuild. Mark's right, the manual is full of tips on the do's and don'ts of rebuilding these old Continentals, plus all the torque ranges for all the important stuff. Also has all the steps for adjusting your governor, timing, etc. when you get her running again.
