TO 35 shifter problems

I recently purchased a TO35 . Only to have continuing problems with the shifter . It sticks in gear constantly . After paying a shop $200 to unstick it the first time . I have been using the advice posted here to get it going .Now the shifter lever feels like it is not connected to anything and you only change gear with a screw driver through the filler hole . 1st or reverse only .
What parts need replaced and where would they be available ?

Most likely the gear lever now is not in place in the selector and that is why it feels as though it is not connected. You can check this by removing the large oil filler plug next to the lever and see what the bottom end of the lever is doing. There is most likely some wear on the actual lever itself and on the selector too which allows the lever to come out of the selector. If you have any drag on the clutch too and it grinds as it goes into gear this wont help as it will hold in gear while you are trying to change gear which would make you have to use extra force. The gear lever can be built up and reshaped to fit better and so can the selector, not sure if the selectors are still available with you but it may be possible to get one from a breakers yard.
