The 3-point on my TO-30 is bleeding down. Could this be from a lack of oil? If so, where do I check the oil level and where do I add the oil? Also what grade of oil do I use.

Bleed down will always occur on these systems as they are not totally sealed, it all depends on how long yours takes to fully drop but anything more than 10 mins is fine, even less than that is passable, some take much longer to lower, all depends on the wear in the system. There is no practical operating necessity for the hydraulics to stay up for long periods, you don"t park it with an implement raised, you lower it, if you transport one raised then the PTO is in gear and it automatically keeps it raised. The oil should be to GL1 specification 90 weight and should be changed every 12 months or 720 hours whichever comes first, drain it while it is hot after work to get rid of all the crap floating around inside.

Ray,IN forgot to mention that you refill the system through the transmission shift housing. where is a big plug that you remove to fill the unit.

Bleed down is to be expected unless you have overhauled all the hydraulics, mine takes about 7 minutes and it was overhauled in 1988. The dipstick is on the right side of the trans/hyd casting, under the quadrant lever( 3pt raise lever). The system requires 6 gallons of 80/90wt straight mineral oil. There are 3 drain plugs that must be removed to completely empty and clean the hydraulic/transmission/differential common oil reservoir. Each drain plug will allow each casting to be completely drained of water,sludge, and dirt; as each casting will hold nearly 1/2 gallon if it's drain plug is not removed.
