TO 30 Play in steering box

I just got a TO30 today. It has play most everywhere, but this question is about the steering box. When you turn the steering wheel the steering arms move up and down, or back and forth, where they come out of the steering box. I don't see any seals around the arms either. Where do I start?

if you look on the side of the steering assembly you will see a big nut with a slotted center,if you loosen up the big nut and then turn the slotted insert with a screw driver ,tighten up and move the steering wheel till it gets no play then lock that side ,do the same on the other side ,let us know how you do good luck

I'd guess the bushings for the sector arms, and the grease seals are worn out. The place to begin is at your local MF dealer. Buy a reprint original shop manual and parts manual, and while there inquire about their parts availability/supply for a Harry Ferguson TO-30. I resorted to a local machine shop to repair my worn parts. They refinished the bearing surface on the arms, then made bushings to fit the new clearances, for less than the cost of new parts. New replacement grease seals are much better than originals, which were made from leather.

Thank you both for you responses. I will try adjusting it after work today. I have a shop manual ordered, and will check on parts once I get the manual.
