Some basic questions about TO-35 3pt hitch hydraulics

I'm trying to make sure I understand exactly how the 3pt hitch hydraulics work on a TO-35. It's my understanding that the PTO does not need to be running like it does on a TO-20 or TO-30, correct? What I'm not sure about is whether the clutch has to be out or not. Will the 3pt hitch operate if the clutch is pushed in? If the clutch has to be let out to raise the lift, will it hold its position if the clutch is pushed in again?

Danny;
If yours is a TO53 Deluxe, it should have a two-stage clutch. The initial travel of the clutch pedal allows for gear shifting and when fully depressed, it disengages the PTO. With mine, once the pedal is pushed in, the 3pt lift arms begin a slow descent to the ground. Letting the pedal out lifts it up again. I hope that helps. I'm still a novice on my TO35. Roger
