Pulling with my TE20??????????????

Hey Guys,
My 15 year old son loves tractor pulling and our old TE20. He wants to use it for pulling. What do you think? Is it a possibility and what about a pulling hitch? Can I bolt one to the rear? I am at a loss for ideas.

First take care of your son and put a ROPS on the
tractor a ROPS designed for your tractor and installed by qualified mechanic. ROPS is the first thing before thinking of any use of the tractor. Did he read the operators manual before atempting any use of the tractor. A pulling hitch
must be designed for the type of tractor you use for pulling and installed to meet safety standards. Since TE20 is rarely used for pulling
a suitable hitch may just not exist.

If you are thinking of a bottom yard "brick a brack" do it yourself installation
you are going to an unavoidable fatality
which you will hate yourself for the rest of your life.

By the way....are you yourself the 15 years old one. mmm let's think.....

Letting a 15 year old on a TE 20 and pulling may be a accident waiting to happen he needs to have some common knowlege of a tractor and what it is capable of doing these little farm tractors can flip over in seconds and with no rops they can be deadly just my thoughts clearfield

Dweeb,

Check with your local pullers club and see what they require. When pulling make sure the pto is out of gear and the draft control lever is locked down. You can use the cross drawbar and drawbar stays and adjust the drawbar height to specs. Or you can get a fixed drawbar that bolts to the underside of the differential and go that route.

i started pulling when i was 14 if the kids been around tractors like i have been (driving down the road on the ford 5610 at age 8) i dont see why he wouldnt know the capabilities of the tractor but be cauous rops, seat belt, and wheelie bars are the way to go

Best thing to do is join your local club, then go from there. Clubs have been running pulls for years and have all the safety rules in place, along with plenty of experience. :)
