My Father-in-law owns a '51 TO30 and ordered a ring gear and pinion from someplace in Penn. Well when the parts got here the pinion gear has both of the "Timken" style cup and cone bearings but not the roller bearing for the tail. The bearing on the old one appears to have been the wrong bearing as it is a 1305 CYS roller bearing. I have checked the bore on the old bearing and came up with 25mm. The pinion gear end is a tick under 24mm or right at 15/16ths. I am thinking whoever he got the tractor from put in what they could find when they ran into a problem in the past. I need to know what the correct bearing nomenclature is for this bearing. I am somewhat familar with bearings and cannot see for the life of me why the 1305 was used on this tractor since it is much thinner than the inner race that was on the "new" pinion gear. If anyone has the correct numbers or the proper dimensions the bearing should be I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long story.

Micky

I'm not sure what bearing you are refering to but I think it's the pinion pilot bearing. The pinion pilot bearing has a Ferguson Part No of 195 195 M1 (1" ID). Maybe you can see a Massey Ferguson dealer and he can get you more specific info.
