Its been a while since I"ve replaced a thermostat in a TO20 - can"t remember which way in goes in the rad hose - pointed end towards rad. and spring/open end towards engine??
Also, looking for a "full sweep" temp. guage for a TO20. The universal"s don"t have much graduation between the numbers at the lower end.With my failing eyesight I need all the help I can get. I check on a Stewart Warner at NAPA but $73 is a little steep.

tombb...Sometimes we have too much information. The best gage I know of is one that has cool, warm and hot... green, yellow, red. 212 is boiling without pressure...220 is aproxamately boiling with pressure...WHO CARES!!! Too hot is too hot. Keep it simple. Good luck, have fun, Mike

I also have a Ferguson TO20---I think it /was made in 1951---NOT sure--How DO I find out what Yr it is ??? Also--What "manuals" are there for this TO20 ?? I also bought a "triple" guage "set" from Harbor Freight---WATER TEMP?? Starts @ 130---Goes to 280!!! IS very "LEGIBLE" !! HHas all wiring//tubing needed:: COST---$15 bucks !!!Hope this helps---DK---

I bought a temp guage for an 8N ford at TSC. It is the correct lenght with out extra cable to coil up. It doesn't have numbers, rather it uses colors (red, yellow, green). I think it cost around $20.
