TO20 Engine Noise

While mowing with a 5ft brush hog I heard a strange noise which I thought was from the BH...After checking I could not find anything wrong there. I disconnected the BH and still had the noise when I started the engine. Sounded as if the fan blade was hitting the fan shroud. Disconnected the fan belt...still there. I also noticed the oil pressure was not showing anything where it usally will show a little something. Oil level was in the safe area on the dip stick. Any ideas of what this might be or what to do to eliminate what it isn't?

no oil p i'll bet you have the rod bearings out and most liklel the mains also. pull the oil filter cover and see whats on the cover bet it will be brass filings

You should not ever have oil pressure less than 15 psi and if your not showing that, you might have sheared the deal that locks the gear to the oil pump drive shaft. Better not run it until you find out what's wrong.
