T30 running rough

Hello group
I have a problem and I need some help
I have a 1952 Ferguson T30
the tractor has sit all winter went to get her out this morning and after charging the battery
I turned her over and she started but just a idle give her some throttle and she stalls will start back up but runs a little rough the thing that baffels me is there is air coming back out the air intake its pushing air back out whats going on any ides

Follow Up I removed head from the old girl and 2nd cyl from the front the intake valve is all carboned up you can see where its not seating shut so thats where my problem is I am going to take the head all apart and do a clean up on all the valves thanks everyone for all the help

Sure sounds like stuck valve. Take R/C off - should be able to see which valve it is. Remove spark plug & turn engine over until that cylinder's piston is at top - just an insurance against dropping a valve into the cylinder if anything goes wrong at next step.
Take a pair of mole grips, or whatever you call those things, and GENTLY (don't damage end of valve) try to rotate it back and forth with a squirt of WD40 or similar on valve stem.
Can't remember the number of times I've had to do this to old engines of one type or another.
Once bought an Allen scythe at auction for �22 because it had no compression - 10 mins of above method and it was running.

Sounds like you have a stuck or sticking inlet valve if its popping in the air filter. It may end up you having to take the cylinder head off and do as a valve job on it. I take it you mean a TO30 not a TE anything?

Make sure that your points are set right and not corroded. Check your ignition timing and check the play in the distributor shaft. A worn shaft and bushing will make it run like a three legged dog. The fix is to rebuild the ditributor.

It's very likely an intake valve is stuck open. If so, the engine will backfire out the air intake occasionally. Remove all the spark plugs, open the throttle completely, and run a compression test. I have the same problem with a MF135, but #4 exhaust valve.
