Is there a gear box that can be added to the pto to allow it to operate forward, neutral, reverse? (or am I missing something) I am using a post hole drill and since the lift and pto both operate at the same time the drill wants to screw in while you try to raise it. If it gets caught on a root or something it just screws right in insted of raising. At this point you are using a few choice words while you unhook the pto shaft and turn it backwards with a wrench while trying to raise the lift. This tractor was given to me and I am not 100% familure with it. Please help one tired puppy. Thanks Glenn

I have a TO-20 and the short answer as far as I know is no.

I'm new to tractors so what I know, or think I know has come from this group and others like it. What you would like to have, me to, is live PTO. From what I've read only the TO-35 had the option of live PTO. I've read messages on the 8N, 9N board here that an aftermarket piece was made for that tractor to change to live PTO but that they are very rare and didn't work very well. If you are going to keep the Fergie I would suggest that you visit the 8N, 9N board as well as this one. Its more active and there is a lot of good info.
