Oil leak from gearbox main shaft, TEF20C -55

I have a TEF20C -55 and the problem is oil on
the clutch plate.
I have located the leak, and the oil seems to
come from the gearbox main shaft.

-Can i renew the mainshaft oil sealing from
the clutchhousing, i dont have the time to strip down the whole gearbox.

-Can the flywheel sealing be renewed easily by
dismounting the flywheel?

When you are apart you will find that it had a very wide leather seal inserted. I believe it was 5/8" wide.(approx 15 mm.) When you are apart measure the shaft size and the seal seat size then go to your brg. and seal supplier and he will be able to supply. I changed mine and replaced this seal with 2 that sdded up to 15mm.. I was able to get 5/16 inch wide seals in to the space. I put one into retain the oil in the Transmission case and one in packed with grease for security. Both face the same way but the one with grease in is the one closest to the small end of the cone. SORRY FOR THE MIX OF MM AND SAE. NOT GOOD WITH MY METRIC.

The tractor is now working as good as it should,
for the first time in my ownership, it is 19 years
older than me :-)

The parts that i renew :
-crankshaft rear oil seal
-the support bearing in the flywheel
-clutch plate
-the thrust bearing
-gearbox main shaft oil seal
-and a lot of work..... .done by myself alone :-)

Gearbox main shaft oil seal was the only part that I couldn't get, but a local seal wholesale found a new with the same dimensions, it was ~1mm thicker, but it fitted fine.
