ROPS for Fergies?

Just got a new Wallberg 5 foot bush hog for my 1954 Ferguson TO-30. Since the season is starting I'd love to get a good ROPS. What is the best way to go, and where should I shop?

My TO-30 is a working tractor and not a show tractor. I do mostly field work on gently rolling terrain. Later this year I may try cutting a trail in our woods. So should I look for a fixed or folding ROPS, and are folding ROPS less safe?

I priced a ROPS for my 255 from Agco last year, basically after shipping it came to about $1,100 installed.

A little high but cheap compared to the potential cost of a rollover.

Basicly it is that black steel hoop that sticks up above the driver on modern tractors. It keeps the tractor from going over on it's back.

The ROPS is shown on the MF 1500 on the right.

I go this image off the AGCO site. It is nice that they tied in the new compact tractors with their history showing the MF-35 on the left.

Hi Rob,

Folding ROPS are not less safe than fixed. The joint should be designed strong enough. I am not sure how to attach but I am sure it has been discussed before.

P.S. How are foothills around Monticello this spring?

Hi Jeff;

The weather here around good old Charlottesville has been beautiful this week. Sunny, light breezes, temps in the 70s peaking at 80 yesterday, but with a good chance of April showers today. Flowering trees burst forth this week, many hardwoods are leafing out, and the grass has that new-growth bright green color.
