I think I know the answer to this but I'm checking to make sure. The tractor is a Ferguson model 20 and I have seen some with silver rear wheel rims. Somehow I think they should be grey like the rest of the tractor. Maybe the silver owners just did that because they liked silver? This tractor is about a '53 or'55 (no tag, I'm judging from the features that it has). So what color should the rear rims be? Thanks.

As the serial number link in the left column on this page shows, they quit making the TO-20 after 1951. Grey rims.

Hi "way up"... If you scrape off a little silver paint, I'll bet there's grey underneath. The answer is grey on grey. Good luck, have fun!! Mike

I would certainly like to see this question put to rest, but there is a lot of evidence that at least some 20s had silver rims, as the movie I have of Harry Ferguson demonstrating the first tractor off the line has silver rims. And so do a lot of the tractors used in Ferguson demo films. Some though are indeterminate, because of lighting conditions. I also have a photo of 20s being loaded onto transport trucks at the factory and the rims are SILVER. But then the first 20 off the line has lights when Harry is driving it, but the tractors were not delivered with lights! The 30,35,40 all were silver according to the evidence I have. I have a friend who had a Ferguson dealership from the get go says they were silver, but sometimes memories fail. Anyone have hard evidence they were gray??
