hey! just checked the number and all I can make out is "04309" ....It MAY be a "2" in front of that, but it's a badly worn piece of the decal plate..... sort of like a 1922 dime I found once that turned out to be a 1972 dime....
My Fergie is located in Southbank, B.C. (Northern B.C , geographically speaking.)

Barry Barry Barry,
Take a look just to the right of your ignition coil, just to the left of your oil filler spout. There is a flat area there with the engine number stamped into it, probably obscured by grease and dirt, maybe faintly stamped...take a look at the picture here....

Hi Jim
Long time since we chatted. Howz life? Nice picture, what are the 3 holes for? Is that where the oil spout mounts? Going to check the engine # tonight when I get home,, stay tuned. Also I noticed that derf say he has an aluminum hood. Not being a metal expert, and I know aluminum is very lite. How would one tell its aluminum??? Derf and my serial numbers are very,, close only about 400 # apart... Thanks Barry

Barry

I'm not derf, obviously, and I hope you don't mind me butting in here, but when you said Belleville - My wife was in Belleville just this past weekend at a horse show. She owns a stallion that she is barrel racing. Actually, she's not riding him right now because she's still recovering from a severely broken leg, so a friend of hers is riding.

Were you aware that there was a horse show last weekend (it was in an arena somewhere)? She also took my 2 daughters as helpers, so guess who got to stay home & do chores?

By the way, we live in Rutherglen - 30 minutes east of North Bay just off Hwy 17. I used to work in Chalk River.

Afternoon North Bay
Im not into horse's at all. Never seen the point. I live on a farm but dont have any animals. The area around Belleville is polluted with horse farms. They are all owned by city slickers that moved out here and bought up all the old farms. They kinda stay to themselves. The only time they seem to want to talk to you is when they flap there arms and tell you to slow the heck down when your driving by them on the road. I think there waving at me so I honk my horn back. The horses dont like that one bit.I guess I shouldnt be doing that. Later my freind ,,, Barry
