TE20 overflow woes

Shortly after starting my TE20 the overflow starts putting out what seems to be a lot of foamy anti freeze. When I check the level in the radiator, it seems to be about in the middle of the top radiator neck. Tractor never seems to get hot, but never seems to quit dripping foam. I can understand if the level in the radiator is to high that expansion will force some of the antifreeze out, but it never seems to quit.

Sir, Hello, Coolant expands some as it gets hot,If you're toping it off to the neck when it expands it has no place to go but out. I suggest you leave it down a little and give it room and see what happens. If you still are thinking compression leaking in , run a small hose off the overflow tube and put it in a glass of water.run the engine up to temp. if its leaking compression into the radaitor the hose will have air bubles coming out of the hose in the glass of water. Leave the coolant level down a little when you run this test or it will push coolant out instead of air telling you nothing. Hope this helps!.

It is possibly the cylinder block that is cracked between the cylinders, this engine does that if it overheats. Check in the archives on here as there have been lots of replies to this problem and lots of solutions.

It could be as simple as a bad cap. Or the bad scenario is that you could be pumping compression into the coolant system. If this is the case, you would get hot after a little because of pushing all the coolant out. Causes would be a likely bad head gasket or cracked head. Good luck on it. RonW
