I just wanted to thenk everyone who responded to my throttle valve (butterfly) problem. Yes, it did indeed come off of the throttle shaft and get sucked up into the intake manifold. I pulled the manifold off and it was sitting in the head at the #3 intake port, just a liitle too big to make it to the valve.

A quick rebuild of the carb with some lok-tite on the threads so it will not happen again and she is running just fine now.

I did adjust the governor screw as described in the manual for the small adjustment and that seems to have fixed my governor pushing the throttle back to idle problem.

Thanks again, this site has been a great help.

Tom
