IS THERE A TRICK IN GET THE MANIFOLD BOLTS LOOSE
ON A TO-30.SOME OF THE BOLTS ARE BEHIND THE MANIFOLD. ANY SUGGESTIONS

I just replaced my manifold last week, the best way to get to the top center bolts, is to remove the fuel tank, takes about 5 minutes. Good Luck

I made my wrench fit it easier by grinding down the box end with a dremil tool and a sanding drum.
Proto or a Napa brand 6pt wrench work really well I have 1-short box, and one long box just for these bolts, and as other have stated use plenty or penitrating oil.....

Gary, I had the same problem on my TO-20. All of my open-end wrenches wer too shoet to get good leverage. I do have a set of open-end crows-foot wrenches for my 1/2-inch drive socket set. A crows-foot and an 18-inch breaker bar and short strocks worked well. Just Slow. The application of a penetrating oil is a good idea. I use Berryman Carb Cleaner and Marvel Mystry Oil. Good luck.

I ran into the same problem last year... luckily for me I was able to break the nuts loose with an open end wrench. Installed the same way, 1/8 turn at a time.
If you have not broke the nuts loose yet, soak them down real good with penetrating oil first so you don't strip them with an open end wrench.
I was not able to get a box wrench on some of the nuts, if you have a skinny box end that might work on some of them.

On my F40 they were hard to get at I used an openend wrench small turns,but I finally got them off.
