I am having problems witht he hydraulics on my 165. It is a 1973 model witht he perkins deisel. It will no longer lift the attachments off the ground. I have been doing some research and it seems there might be filter that often gets clogged??? I am looking for any hints, suggestions, and or other ideas on what to do. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you have to do?

Big Dean on the MH-MF forum is the real expert. He directed me on a similar problem last year w/ my 165. One thing, though, my position control lever did not work but the draft lever would still lift & drop the implement.

He told me a hard knock on the rear linkage(like ramming a round bale)can knock the internal lift cover linkage out of adjustment. He was right.

There is a filter on the hydraulic pump. It can be accessed from the left side inspection plate. The procedure to dis-assemble and clean is in the MF-126 Maitenence manual. If you do not have one I would suggest you get one. They are available form this site. (very 1st link on the top left of this web page)

Thanks Jeff, I'll see about ording it. Have you had this problem before? Does it sound like it could be clogged filter or maybe a pump gone bad? I just want to start witht he easiest solution and work from there. Any other ideas you can think of? Thanks... I'll take any suggestions I can get.
