My TO-20 valve cover is warped pretty bad so I went down to the local salvage yard and picked one up for $15. I told the guy TO-20 or TO-30 would be the same. All he had was a TO-30 so I took it. Went to put it on and realized they are not the same. The TO-30 is shorter in height and does not reach the head. Can I get different valve train studs to lower the cover or am I out of luck?

my manual says the TO-30 valve cover can be used " as long as the shorter studs are also used". Don't know where to get the shorter studs, maybe a Massey dealer, or a good auto parts store might be able to match up some studs that will work. Trouble with the Massey dealer, they might want as much money for a couple studs as you would spend to just buy another TO-20 cover. I think I saw a valve cover on EBAY, don't recall if it was for a 20 or 30.
My valve cover is a little warped too, the gasket kept popping out along the side. I tried to straighten it up, then ended up leveling the gasket with silicone sealer when I installed it, worked good.
