Excellent information in the replies to your post. I have a question, why would a person buy a tractor (or any item) without researching and knowing what they are buying BEFORE the sale? Just curious, Don

Hi Don... Bought my to20 because it was painted red, thought it was a Massey, price was right, had a recent re-build & clutch. I suppose the answer, in my case is ignorance. Ignorance, in this case was bliss, because I'm happy. Hope this will help answer why, in at least one case. Mike

The Massey Ferguson name plate wasn't used until very late 1957. Prior to that, they were either Fergusons or Massey Harris. Some had Massey Harris Ferguson on the castings.

USE THE SERIAL NUMBER FROM THE PATENT PLATE AND GO TO THE SERIAL NUMBERS UNDER RESEARCH & INFO AT THE LEFT OF YOUR SCREEN TO FIND WHICH MODEL YOU HAVE. YOUR SERIAL # SHOULD START WITH T O OR T E. MANUALS CAN BE ORDERED FROM THE MANUAL SECTION AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN.

digg, looks like you got a 1953 TO-30 tractor. The engine is a Z-129 Continental engine, ~28 HP.
