Hi all
I am after some advice please.

I have a tef diesel with the 4cyl diesel engine.

I have stripped the brakes as the transmission oil is leaking into the drums.

I was told there were inner seals but none are fitted!
Only one side had a shim between the back-plate and axle, is this normal or should both sides be shimmed?
Will I have to get the shoes re-lined? There is plenty of wear left in them bur they are soaked in the leaking oil.

The rams leak on the 'mil' loader is it easy to replace the seals? Or does the inside of the rams have to be rebored?

Sorry for lots of questions in one topic!

Thanks in advance

Good day Mark in the UK.
John in the UK could probably elaberate on this one. If the axle housing on your tractor is the same as the TEA 20-85 you will need the following seals Item 11. inner seal 2 inch ID x 2 7/8 inch OD x 1/2 inch depth. Item 16.The outers are 2 3/8 inch ID x 3 1/2 inch OD x 5/8 inch depth.
Next remove the shoes and soak in brake cleaner over night. Then put them in a dishwasher (domestic) if you can talk the wife into it. I did this with my clutch and shoes, it works well. I have one in my shop and it cleans things really clean.. There are also shims varying from .003 -.015".for bearing clearance on axle shafts.
Hope that helps.
