TO-30 throttle problems

I just purchased a TO-30 and have done some work to it. I am currently having problems with the throttle lever setting staying at one speed without holding the lever. What will I need to do to repair this? Also, the 3 pt hitch hydraulics lever is very touchy. You have to keep your hand on the lever at all times to keep it a one position. It this an easy fix? I grew up on an 8N and know this little tempermental one is need of some TLC. Any help would be appreciated. Linda

Linda, the TO-30, unlike the Ford 8N, does NOT have position control, unless you add it yourself, like with a Zane Thang, available from Zane Sherman in Alabama. You can do a search and find him I'm sure. About $80.

You can tighten the throttle lever by adjusting the spring clamp at the back of the air cleaner. You can adjust the Hydraulic lever by tightenening the castle nut at the bottom of the lever (remove the split pin first). If either of these adjustments dont work it could be that the friction material that stops them from moving needs replacing. If the lever is "touchy" as you say and it doesnt improve when you have adjusted it as above, it could be that the whole Quadrant that the lever works in requires some adjustment too. read the way we responded to Norm on 1/17 ,i think your fix will be the same ,if you dont have one already get a manual for the TO30 it makes things much clearer
