TO 30 Hydraulics

I just replaced the 5 gallons of GL-1 hydraulic fluid in a TO 30. I can't get a response from the three point hydraulics. The arms feel like they are totally disconnected from any upward pressure, almost like there is an internal disconnect. Any ideas?

I need to replace the hydraulic fluid in the rear section of a Harry Ferguson Model 30 tractor. Can you tell me where the filler cap is located? And does it take standard hydraulic fluid?

You are going to need a position control device to be able to use implements like a back blade or bush hog etc.

If you have checked the PTO is in gear and it still doesn't work it could be the Control Valve stuck. email me at fergusontractors at hotmail dot com and I will send you an information sheet on how to check it. If you have any more information on the problem let me have that too.

Under the seat on the left hand side is a lever that connects the pump and the PTO. Is that in the proper position? It should be toward the rear to make the pump and PTO work. When the shaft is engaged, the PTO AND the hydraulic pump are connected so make sure that you have the cover on the PTO or be really careful when you're at the PTO end of the tractor.

I didn't have the PTO lever in the correct position to make the hydraulics work. I didn't realize they were connected since I haven't had the tractor long. I'm assuming the PTO shaft drives the pump? Thanks for your time.
