I have a Massey Ferguson 35 that has power steering and was wondering where one can find 'as close to original' hoses as possible without paying 'an arm and a leg' for them. Or perhaps, if one could make suitable hoses.

A couple of the power steering lines on my MF-135 were about 1/3 steel tubing with intricate shapes and a smaller outside diameter than rubber. I don't think rubber would have fit in the space available or made the necessary bends and stayed out of the way of steering arms. Yes they cost at the MF dealers. I tried to replace an all steel hydraulic line on my JD-4020 with a rubber hose and properly crimped fittings but the fitting wouldn't fit in the space available. $35 wasted.

Dale, you should find that any company that makes/repairs hydraulic hoses for diggers/plant and other equipment can make these up for you at lowish cost.

I would not try to make my own without the necessary pipe/hose crimping tools - PAS systems can run at a couple of thousand psi, and that can (a) be messy and (b) dangerous if you happen to be in the way.

Just my thoughts.
