TEA Generator, Need More Power

I installed a 6 1/2 foot truck plow with eletric over hydraulics onto the front of my TEA. Loaded the tires , installed chains , this thing works great. The only issue is that it kills my new battery every time . I cleaned all connections , ran all new heavy wires to the plow. I also measured the generators output and it's approx. 13 volts.

What can I do ????? Thanks , Peter

The generators on these are only rated at 11 amps which recharge your battery if you have a hard time starting, eventually...
Two solutions: alternator, or higher output generator.
Alternator: one-wire versions make for easy wiring, more fooling around with physical mounting, sticks out beside the hood so gets a bit of weather, once done, reliable.
Generator: I put one from a TR3 on mine and still had to fool a bit with mounting, but not bad. Regulator should be compatible; lucky me, I had one around.

Either way you go it would be hard to find a replacement that would not do the job, current wise.

Ihave a TEA with a Chrysler alternator and regulator, and I have TEA and Super Dexta with one wire Chev alternators. They work great. Bright lights, easy cranking. The trick on a TEA is getting an alt with the wide pulley. A electric rebuilder should have no trouble supplying it.

tractorfix is right. An alt. is the way to go. You will never generate enough power for a regular elect/Hydralic plow set up. You need a big amp. altenator and as big a battery as you can fit in.
