Need Help Determining TO-30 Value

Hi Folks,

I know I can't get any definitive answers, but I'm looking for a little help determining how to price my 1953 TO-30. I've looked at the Tractor Value link here, but the references are all quite dated. I don't see many advertised locally and have no idea of condition on those I see.

Here are the specifics:

- located North of Denver, CO
- 1953
- excellent running condition
- new starter
- good tires
- hydraulics and pto all work well
- hood modified (there's a hatch for filling fuel)
- front rims cut down
- newer seat
- newer headlights (not factory by a long shot)
- rear work light (disconnected)
- Doesn't burn oil
- Carb could probably use a rebuild as it appears to be leaking a bit.
- Includes 5' blade and newer 5' King Kutter rotary mower

Any thoughts on value or advice on where I can look for comps?

Hey Guys - I have a question. We have a TO-30 that is red also. I have been told by the "experts" that it should be gray. What is the real color?

Around here (Central Illinois) I think it would bring $2,000 to $2,500.

But it can vary a lot depending on the exact location.

I live in the Northwest part of the country and my opinion, for what ever it's worth, puts the tractor at between $2250 and $2750 and an additional $500 to $750 for the implements. I'd need more data about the implements to be more definitive.

Thanks, Jerry. The implements are nothing special. I think I paid about $600 for the King Kutter mower and the blade was on the tractor when I bought it. Where in MT are you? The reason I'm selling the tractor is that I'm likely relocating to the Billings area. We're getting squeezed out of our current location.....

Hi Glenn...When my wife bought my to20 for me she paid $2200.00 and we're happy. Mine came with no attachments and is not nearly as cosmeticlly sound ad yours. Mine had a recent clutch and valve job, and was ready to work. I'm in the big bend of Florida, close to south Ga. and general pricing on old tractors, work ready vary from $1500.00 to $3500.00. i paid $3000 for a to30 that turned out to be close to perfect when i got it ,of course i didnt know it at the time as nobody can be sure how a 50year old tractor was mantained ,i bought a te20 for $1400 but i had to put a lot into it ,so to me the more expensive to30 was the better deal, anyway there are no gurantees with these machines ,but i find that most problems can be fixed with the help of this board and the only problem i find is that after you have one running perfectly you start looking for #2 so beware

one thing i forgot being that the hood was modified to add fuel ,the tractor probably had a loader at one time so i would check the front end for excessive play also get a flash light and look at the front of the crank shaft see if it has the adapter plate for the loader still attached ,this would help if you decide to put a wagner loader on in the future
