TO20 Questions - Wheel weights, Hyd. Leak

I just bought a '50 TO20. It has wheel weights on the inside of the rear wheels. Can anyone tell me how much they weigh? I need to remove the rear wheels to replace one of the tires, paint, etc. and want to know what I'm getting into before removing.
Also, its leaking hyd. fluid around the right brake pedal assembly at the rear axel. Does the whole axel housing have to be removed to fix?
Any info, appreciated.

You don't say which end of the axle you mean. Do you mean behind the brake drum or at the differential end. If its at the diff-end you will need to remove the housing to replace the gasket, if its behind the brake drum you only need to remove the brake drum and the axle-shaft. About the wheel weights, depends on how many are fitted to the wheel, I think they were about 180lbs each so be careful they can easily crush you if you are unaware of the weight.

they are 150pounds each on the TO30 i think they only made one size Danny

tom sorry i didnt read your full question ,you dont have to touch or remove the wheel weights ,just remove the wheels ,be carefull as if full of fluid they are heavy ,two flathead screws hold the brake drum assembly in place but only take those off if your brakes are no good from all the oil leaking on them,otherwise take off the 8 bolts at the back of the wheel disk and slide the shaft out you should get a manual for the tractor before you do anything as then you can have the seals ,gaskets and some shims that you may need beforehand

Thanks all for the info. I figured it wouldn't be a simple job to fix the leak. The brake shaft is leaking at the rear end housing. Also looks like its leaking out the axle seals as the inside of the brake drums are coated with old grease, dirt, etc. I've been looking at the manual - don't know if I want to tackle it or not.
The old tire that needs replaced does have fluid in it. That's why I'm a little leary about taking it off by myself. Will drain what I can out. Will have to ponder a while on this one. Thanks again,
