I looked at a TO30 with hole in the block the size of a football ( behind the strater). The rear tire are good, the tin is ok there's a few rust holes. it needs paint. He said the junk yard offered him $750. Thanks Den

Dennis,
When my engine blew on my TO30, my local junk yard said he had no desire for the tractor. He said that the rest of the tractor was so bullet-proof, he had no demand for anything else other than the engine. If you check the archives or do a google, you'll find the price of a rebuilt Z-129, (The engine in the TO30) is around $1800 with an exchange core. It doesn't sound like that block would be an acceptable core... Add 300 bucks without a core.
Of course, if you go that route, you'll have a great tractor. But I think he's embellishing the truth a bit with that $750 offer.
I'm in the central part of California, and I'll take a lot less for the same tractor in basically the same shape.

I think I would scout around for another engine and fix it up. Tou need a winter project dont you? Otherwise $500. max
